Tingstovene

The project marks the place where the first Norwegian court of law was situated- the Gulatinget. The programme consists of an exhibition place, auditorium, restaurant, wardrobes and storage for the outdoor theatre play which is celebrated annually.
Our proposal splits the programme into seven different buildings that are placed together in a constellation that allows the creation of an interior patio and indoor circulation between the buildings, as well as adapting to the irregular landscape. All the main functions are on one floor providing universal access to all functions. The project works with the visual language of the traditional houses in the surrounding area, providing a historical reference for a historical setting
